FAQ
The Answers To All Of Your Questions
IT’S MY FIRST CLASS. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT TO ATTEND A CLASS AT ROGUE AWAKENING?
Every member must be 14 years of age or older. If under 18 years old, a parent or guardian must sign a waiver in person at the studio for them to attend classes. Occasionally, we will offer kid's yoga classes and classes/workshops for families with children of various ages. Check out our schedule or contact us to find when these are offered!
I AM PREGNANT - CAN I STILL TAKE CLASSES AT ROGUE AWAKENING?
First, congratulations! Second, YES! We will always recommend you speak with your doctor before starting or continuing physical activity. The only restriction we have for our members who are expecting is that our Aerial classes become off-limits. Hopefully this is for obvious reasons.
Be sure to check out our schedule for pre and postnatal classes!
DO YOU HAVE ANY CLASS PACKAGES OR MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS?
Absolutely! We offer a variety of membership options to suit different needs, including drop-in rates, class packs, and unlimited memberships. You can check out our membership page or contact us for more details.
CAN I FREEZE MY MEMBERSHIP?
Yes, we allow members to freeze their memberships for a specified period. This is great if you’re traveling, recovering from an injury, or just need a break. To freeze your membership send an email to hello@rogueawakening.com.
CAN I ARRIVE TO CLASS LATE?
We understand that life happens, so we've implemented a 5-minute grace period for late arrivals. If you arrive within 5 minutes of the class start time, you may quietly enter and join the session. However, after the 5-minute mark, a notice will be placed on the studio door by a Member Consultant. If the notice is on the door, entry is no longer permitted, and no exceptions will be made. This policy ensures that we respect the experience of those who arrived on time. Please plan your schedule accordingly.
IS THERE A CANCELATION POLICY?
-
There is a universal 3 hour cancelation policy for all standard classes and a 24 hour cancellation policy for all workshops and specialty classes.
-
A “Late Cancel” charge of $15 will occur if a booking is cancelled outside of out guidelines.
-
A “No Show” charge of $20 will occur if a booking is not cancelled and you do not show up for a class.
*We understand life happens, so please always contact the studio rather than clicking late cancel if an emergency arises and you cannot make it to class. Once a late cancel or no show charge has gone through, we cannot reverse the charge or honor a refund.*
WHAT IF I HAVE TO LEAVE EARLY?
Leaving early from class can be disruptive to your fellow rogue yogis. If you anticipate needing to leave before the end of the session, you must inform the teacher ahead of time and choose a spot near the door for a quiet and respectful exit. We appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines to help us create the best possible experience for everyone.
WHAT IS THE “WAITLIST?” WILL I BE NOTIFIED WHEN I GET INTO CLASS?
When scheduling your classes, you may find yourself on the waitlist. The waitlist is where your reservation will be held until a space hopefully opens up for you to get into class. You will be able to check the status of the waitlist from your Rogue Awakening account. If you're on a waitlist and can no longer attend the class, you must remove yourself from the waitlist. Do not assume you will not get into class, no matter how far down on the waitlist you are. If you are pulled off the waitlist and added into class, you are subject to standard late cancel or no show fees. Please plan accordingly!
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HEATED AND NON-HEATED STUDIO SPACE?
Our heated yoga studio is going to intensify your practice. Be prepared to sweat in there. Pace yourself and listen to your body. Our non-heated yoga studio is a comfortable room temperature that allows you to focus on your practice and breath.
CAN THE HEATING PANELS DAMAGE MY SKIN, LIKE THE SUN?
No! Although it feels like you're soaking in sun rays, you are not. The heating panels boosts flexibility, increase circulation, and helps detoxify the body. Unlike many other yoga studios that use forced air to heat up their practice space, the infrared panels radiate a completely safe spectrum of light that is invisible to our eyes without blowing around dust or allergens from heating ducts. They do not release any emissions, chemicals, or pollutants. Our air is clean and clear.
CAN I ATTEND A CLASS AT ROGUE AWAKENING EVEN THOUGH I’VE NEVER DONE YOGA BEFORE AND I DON'T REGULARLY WORKOUT RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS A GOOD FIRST CLASS TO TRY?
Heck yes! Rogue Awakening is for anyone and everyone! All of our teachers provide variations and cues to support you, no matter where you are in your yoga or fitness journey.
If you're here for recovery, we recommend starting with Deep Stretch or Relax and Restore. If you're looking for active recovery, try Stretch and Flow. If your focus is on lifting weights and building muscle endurance and strength, our Express classes or Small Group Personal Training sessions are great options. Feel free to call the studio, and our Member Consultants can help match you to the perfect class!
WHAT ARE SOME BENEFITS OF YOGA?
Yoga offers a wide range of benefits for both body and mind, including improved flexibility, strength, and balance, as well as reduced stress and enhanced mental clarity. At Rogue Awakening, our yoga practice is uniquely integrated with other exercise modalities, making it perfect for recovery or active rest after intense workouts like in our Small Group Personal Training classes where you'll be heavy lifting and participating cardio exercises. Whether you're seeking physical fitness, mental clarity, or balanced recovery, our yoga classes support your holistic well-being.
I HAVE A HEART CONDITION - CAN I STILL TAKE CLASSES AT ROGUE AWAKENING?
Please consult your doctor before beginning a new workout regimen.
WHAT IF I’M NOT FLEXIBLE?
Not flexible YET! Flexibility is just like any other skill—it takes practice. We didn’t come out of the womb walking, talking, or doing splits (though we were pretty flexible back then!). The first step to becoming more flexible is simply deciding you want to be.
In fact, research from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey found that greater flexibility is associated with lower mortality rates for people 65 and older. So, why not start now? Yoga is a fantastic way to improve flexibility, and the more you practice, the more you'll notice progress. Keep showing up, and you'll be amazed at how much you can grow!
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BE TAKING CLASS?
You can safely take class every day if you have an unlimited membership—join us as often as you like! With a variety of classes, you can challenge yourself in new ways daily.
We offer various modalities to ensure you work your body hard while also giving it the recovery it needs. Each class style at Rogue Awakening has its own unique benefits, so we encourage you to experience all the types we offer. This holistic approach helps you address different aspects of your fitness and well-being. If you’re not hitting all our class styles, make sure to supplement with other types of workouts or activities that meet your needs.
Just a heads-up: while it's great to come often, we recommend not doing Power Sculpt every day. This high-intensity class is designed to make you sweat like never before, so balance it out with our other offerings to keep your routine varied and effective.
WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE PROGRESS IN MY PRACTICE AND CHANGES IN MY BODY?
Every time you roll out your mat, you’re exploring a new facet of who you are. Some days, your balance might be on point, or you might find yourself sinking deeper into poses. Some days you might be able to lift heavier than others. Over time, you'll notice changes not just in your strength, but also in your body, mind, and soul. The key is to embrace where you are at that moment and remember that each class you take is a step forward.
The progress you make will also depend on the class styles you prioritize. If you have specific goals in mind, consider sitting down with one of our health coaches. They can help you create a personalized game plan to reach those goals effectively.
Remember, every session is an opportunity for growth, and tomorrow brings a fresh chance to advance your practice!
IS AERIAL YOGA DANGEROUS?
Aerial Yoga is potentially dangerous. Your teacher will have gone through formal Aerial Yoga training to properly and safely guide you through your practice. The most common injuries are pulled muscles, fabric burns, and dizziness/nausea.
WHAT DOES “NAMASTE” MEAN?
At the end of our yoga classes, you may hear the word "Namaste." When we say Namaste at the end of class, it's like giving a little nod with our hearts. With hands pressed together and a slight bow, we're basically saying, "I see the awesome in you, and the awesome in me says hi!" It's our way of recognizing the light and goodness in each other.
ARE LOCKERS AVAILABLE?
Yes. To help keep your belongings safe, after each use, the lockers can be reset and locked with a different and special code that only you know. We also have multiple cameras located in the front lobby, parking lot, entrances, and children's room for extra security.
DOES YOUR STUDIO HAVE A SHOWER?
Yes! We have a shower on the lower level of the building that is available to use at your leisure. If you don't have time for a shower, you may ask for a second cold essential oil towel to wipe down your body and refresh.
I LEFT SOMETHING AT THE STUDIO, WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Rogue Awakening is not responsible for your lost items. If you realize you are missing a personal item, please give us a call immediately. Items left at the studio will be disposed of after 14 days.
